Philosophies and Goals
Our abstinence- based program is derived from the Twelve Step recovery concept. The program at Heartland House is organized as a social model program and since learning demands willingness and desire, entrance to the program must be voluntary on the part of every prospective resident.
The Heartland House Program Philosophy is threefold in its intent:
- Provide a living environment conducive to continued sobriety
- Conduct an educational program that helps the newly recovering alcoholic/addict establish a long-term support system.
- Generate attitudes that enhance self- sufficiency, self-worth and an ongoing quality of life.
